Valerie Serpa, Director of the Oats Park Art Center and the Churchill Arts Council in Fallon, died in a plane crash last night in Medford, Oregon.

A representative from the Churchill Arts Council, Michael Eric Scott, confirmed her death. A representative from the Jackson County, Oregon Sheriff’s Department said the crash is under investigation, and it will likely take a few days before additional details are released.

The Federal Aviation Administration’s incident database lists a fatal crash in Medford, Oregon at 4:52 pm on Sunday, Dec. 5. The incident description reads, “Aircraft crashed under unknown circumstances into a car dealership parking lot and caught on fire.”

The FAA’s aircraft registry lists the plane as a Piper Navajo registered to Donald Sefton of Fallon.
