Mother’s Day is next Sunday, May 9, so there are two weekends left to find the perfect gift. If you like your gifts handmade by local artists, here’s a list of Reno-area sales geared for Mom. (Note: Be sure to check the dates for each sale. Some are Mother’s Day weekend only, some also run this weekend, and one can help belated shoppers catch up post-holiday.)

There will be plenty of pottery to pick from no matter when you make it out. … Shopping is outside and please bring a mask. Cash or cards accepted.” Handmade textile items from Sarah Lillegard will be on offer as well.

“Not Very Ladylike,” a paining by Sierra Watercolor Society member Ronnie Rector

It’s not technically a Mother’s Day sale, but this show is one of the biggest and best displays of watercolors you’ll see in the region, and it’s timed just right to treat Mom to a fresh work of art. (It’s also timed pretty nicely for belated shoppers. The show is up through early June.) Admission is free. More event info here.
