Nevada has a new museum! It’s the Lilley—short for John and Geraldine Lilley Museum of Art. It opens today, Jan. 25, with two exhibitions. I dropped by to talk with museum director Paul Baker Prindle, artists Sameer Farooq and Jared Stanley, and guest curator Stephanie Gibson of Nevada Humanities. Lucia Starbuck—a videographer from UNR’s journalism department—put this video together.
The Lilley Museum is next to Church Fine Arts, and a walkway connects the two buildings. An opening reception is scheduled for this evening, Jan. 25, from 6-9 p.m. A gallery talk and panel discussion are scheduled for 2-3 p.m. Jan. 26. The Lilley is open daily except Sunday and Mondays. Admission is free.
