The Nevada Museum of Art announced today that it’s planning a 50,000-square-foot, $60 million expansion to increase the museum’s capacity for educational initiatives, gallery exhibitions, and research.
The planned space, which will be called the Education and Research Center, has been designed by architect Will Bruder, who also designed the museum’s existing building.
The museum plans to allocate the additional square footage to gallery space for its permanent collections, expand its Center for Art + Environment, and double its capacity for school tours, with a goal of hosting 12,000 pre-K to 12th grade students per year.
The expansion is slated to be competed in 2025.
