City of Reno seeks Public Art Committee members
The City of Reno’s Public Art Committee is looking to fill three vacancies. Applications are due by Dec.1 and will be reviewed at December meetings. Application and instructions here.
UNLV proposes new arts building
A new College of Fine Arts building has been approved and funded for the pre-design stage of planning by the NSHE Regents. The proposed building would include 100,000 square feet of gallery and event space and a cafe. Arts and Economic Prosperity Study released
The Nevada Arts Council—in partnership with Americans for the Arts, the City of Las Vegas the City of Reno, and Clark County—have released the Arts and Economic Prosperity Study, which concluded that $662.5 million was generated by Nevada nonprofit arts and culture organizations and their audiences in 2022. The study found that the arts industry provided 9,640 Nevada jobs, $436.5 million in personal income to Nevada residents, and $156.3 million in tax revenue to local, state, and federal governments.
