Carson City hires Eric Brooks as arts + culture Manager

Visit Carson City announced on Nov. 6 that it has hired Eric Brooks as its new Arts and Culture Program Manager. Previously, Brooks worked with art groups including the Brewery Arts Center, Sierra Arts Foundation and Art Spot Reno. In his role with Carson City, he will manage special events, festivals and public art projects.

 

 

Holland Project relaunches Billboard Gallery

The Holland Project’s Billboard Gallery has relaunched after a hiatus, highlighting the work of emerging and established local artists on billboards around Reno. The current series features billboard reproductions of Andie Pereyra’s pencil drawing”Deuce” above Lasting Dose Tattoo on Virginia and Taylor Streets; Jon Kortland’s untitled ink drawing at Wells Avenue & Vassar Street; and Bobby Lee’s “Protect McDermitt Caldera” at Prater Way & Rock Boulevard. Artist opportunities with Nov. + Dec. deadlines

Creative Capital published a list of grants, residencies, and other opportunities with November and December deadlines. Highlights include residencies in North Carolina and Portugal, and the Puffin Foundation 2024 Annual Artist Grant Program, which offers awards of $1,250 to support projects in fine arts, photography, music, and environmental artistic activism.
