Grant open for NW Nevada students

Applications are open for the $500 Sierra Arts Student Grant. Applicants must be high school seniors or enrolled college undergraduates residing within a 200 mile radius of Sierra Arts, which is in downtown Reno. Applications are due Feb. 28. Info here.

James Stanford to be inducted to UNLV Hall of Fame 

Las Vegas multimedia artist James Stanford will be inducted into the UNLV College of Fine Arts Hall on Fame in a March 21 ceremony at the UNLV Student Union. Stanford, who is known for transforming historic neon signage and architectural elements of Las Vegas into modern mandalas, was one of the first College of Fine Arts graduates. Tickets here. Punk Rock Museum slated to open in March

Basin to Range applications open

The Nevada Arts Council invites arts organizations to apply for the FY23 Basin to Range Exchange Program, a program that promotes and urban-rural arts and cultural collaborations. The in-person gathering takes place in Ely April 17-19.The priority applications period ends Feb 20. Info here.

NMA’s STEAM conference coming up in March

Registration is still open for the 2023 NV Steam Conference, which takes place March 1 and 4. The conference is virtual, and registration is free for Nevada K-12 educators. Info here.

Correction: We reported incorrect grant info last week

We erroneously reported on Feb. 3 that Nevada Arts Council Project Grants for Individual Artists are currently open. Applications are not currently open. The next application period for this $3,000 grant opens April 4 and closes May 1. Info here.
