Sparks seeks advisory committee member

The City of Sparks announced an opening on its Arts and Culture Advisory Committee. The term is from from May to November 2022 and is renewable. Applicants are not required to live in Sparks. Special Event Supervisor Francine Burge asked applicants to note the following: “If you have applied and are interested in serving, you need to let me know via email or phone. [fburge@cityofsparks.us or 775-353-7856] I do not get copies of the applications. The Mayor appoints the person to the role. NMA to switch to digital membership cards

The Nevada Museum of Art announced on April 21 that it will transition from using physical, plastic membership cards to digital ones. Members can expect to receive an e-mail soon, explaining how they can download their digital membership card onto a smartphone.

Nevada Arts Council grant for artists still open

The Nevada Arts Council’s Project Grant for Artists opened on April 4. Up to $3,000 will be awarded to fund projects such as art exhibitions, performances, readings, concerts, recording, and filming. The current grant cycle opened April 4, with applications due May 6. Another cycle will open Oct. 3, with a deadline of Oct. 28. Info here.

Sierra Arts Grant for Visual Artists still open

The Sierra Arts Grant for Visual Artists is still open. Three grants in the amount of $1,000—one each for a 2D artist, a 3D artist, and a photographer—will be awarded. The deadline is May 31. Application here.
