City of Reno art admin job open
The City of Reno opened an Arts & Culture Program Assistant position on April 1. The job description reads, in part, “The successful candidate in this position will perform a variety of advanced clerical and routine technical, programmatic, and administrative duties in support of the arts & culture program.” Info here.
Barrick Museum in the running for national award
The Institute of Museum and Library Services announced on Thursday that the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art is among 30 finalists for the 2022 National Medal for Museum and Library Service. The Barrick is the only institution in Nevada to be selected as a finalist for this award. The National Medal is the nation’s highest honor given to museums and libraries that demonstrate significant impact in their communities.
Nevada Arts Council grant for artists open
The Nevada Arts Council’s Project Grant for Artists opened on April 4. Up to $3,000 will be awarded to fund projects such as art exhibitions, performances, readings, concerts, recording, and filming. The current grant cycle opened April 4, with applications due May 6. Another cycle will open Oct. 3, with a deadline of Oct. 28. Info here.
Sierra Arts Grant for Visual Artists open
The Sierra Arts Grant for Visual Artists is now open. Three grants in the amount of $1,000—one each for a 2D artist, a 3D artist, and a photographer—will be awarded. The deadline is May 31. Application here.
