Former UNLV prof Holder died in December

Former UNLV Art Prof. Thomas J. Holder, 81, died at his home in Henderson on Dec. 1, 2021. “Holder played a pivotal role in the formation of several Las Vegas art institutions, including UNLV’s art program,” according to the UNLV Department of Art’s Feb. 28 newsletter. City of Reno grants for arts orgs open

The City of Reno National Endowment for the Arts ARP Grants to Organizations opened on March 1. Nonprofit arts groups based in Washoe County can apply for $20,000 in operating expenses as part of a federal pandemic relief plan for the arts and culture industry. Application and info here.

Neon Museum announces new ticket prices

On April 1, The Neon Museum in Las Vegas will implement new ticket prices, including a discounted rate for kids ages 7-17 and a combination ticket for evening visits, which includes a guided tour and the Brilliant! Jackpot show. More ticket info here.

Nevada Museum of Art restaurant closes

The Nevada Museum of Art’s restaurant, Chez Louie, has closed, as reported by the Reno Gazette Journal’s Evan Haddad on March 3. The restaurant had been open for 10 years and was run by Reno chef Mark Estee. Here’s the RGJ article.
