$1K student grant closes Feb. 28
Sierra Arts is still accepting applications for its $1,000 Grants for Students. Students may apply if they reside within a 200 mile radius of Sierra Arts (which is in Downtown Reno) and are attending their senior year of high school or enrolled as a college undergraduate. ARP Grant for individual artists still open
The Nevada Arts Council still has American Rescue Plan funding available for performing, visual, literary, and media artists 21 and over. Grants are $1,000 for projects such as exhibitions, performances, readings, concerts, and the creation of art. More info here.
NMA acquires Lucy Lippard collection
The Nevada Museum of Art and the Center for Art + Environment announced this week that writer/curator/critic Lucy Lippard has donated “the entirety of her library and research materials related to her work with Land Art, Western American land use, Native American art and culture, and more.”
The museum also acquired additional materials related to the 2021 Art + Environment Season, including artworks by Edgar Arceneaux, Mary Miss, Oscar Tuazon, and Cauleen Smith; archive materials from Beverly Buchanan and Cannupa Hanska Luger; and objects from Christo and Jean-Claude’s Umbrellas project.
