Ashanti McGee joins WESTAF staff

Las Vegas artist/curator/arts activist Ashanti McGee is the new Grants and Access Manager for WESTAF, the Western States Arts Federation. She’s also joined the organization’s three-member Social Responsibility and Inclusion Team. Ashanti has served as a volunteer panelist and administrator for WESTAF since 2014. She is also a co-founder of the Las Vegas Womxn of Color Arts Festival and a core member of NUWU Cultural Arts + Activism complex.

Nevada Humanities grants for orgs: 1 due soon, 1 opens soon

The deadline for Nevada Humanities Major Project Grants is Sept 10. The grant is intended for programming by non-profit organizations and is awarded in amounts up to $7,500. Also, Nevada Humanities next cycle of mini grants, in amounts of $2,000, opens tomorrow, Aug. 21 Info here.

NAC grants for individual artists open

Applications are open for the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Grant for Individual Artists. The $1,000 grant is intended for project-based support in all disciplines. More info here.
City of Reno Art + Culture grants open
Applications are open for the City of Reno Arts & Culture Grants for 2022. The Arts + Culture Commission plans to host a virtual grants workshop in September, date TBD. To join the email list for workshop updates, contact Public Art Coordinator Megan Berner. The grants are for events and projects happening in Reno from Jan. 1 – Dec. 31, 2022. The deadline is Oct. 15. Berner advises, “Please start your applications early so we can assist you and answer any questions well before the deadline.” Info here.

Clark County Public Art has a new art email list

Clark County Public Art will discontinue its current email list and begin a new one on Sept. 1. Subscribers to the new list will receive updates on public art, education, and related topics, including calls for artists. Sign up here.
