Barrick Museum re-implements Saturday hours
The pandemic brought a temporary end to the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art’s Saturday opening hours. Starting tomorrow, May 1, the museum will once again be open on Saturdays from 10am-5pm. Admission and parking are free. COVID-19 occupancy restrictions are still in place, so you’ll need to make a reservation.
7 Magic Mountains to undergo maintenance
Next week and the week after, Seven Magic Mountains, the land art installation south of Las Vegas, will undergo maintenance. A painting crew will be onsite Monday, May 3, through Friday, May 14. The site will remain open to the public, but visitors will not be able to get close up to the sculpture while the maintenance is in progress.
Burning Man canceled
Burning Man CEO Marian Goodell gave a video update on Tuesday in which she announced that the 2021 event has been canceled. “We’re focusing our energies on Burning Man 2022,” she said. “It’s too important to do half-assed. So we’re doubling down on next year.”
