The Northwest Reno Library will host an exhibition of work from artist Ruby Barrientos.
Inspired by their visit to Ataco, El Salvador in 2017, Ruby Barrientos’ work explores the common sentiment of the Salvadoran diaspora – “ni de aquí, ni de allá” or “not from here, not from there.” Through Barrientos’ own interpretation of what reminds them of their homeland, they resist the erasure of their own Salvadoran culture and celebrate their cultural heritage.
