Toward a Tangled Turn: Knots, Nets, Threads, & Loops

This Fall the Sheppard Contemporary Gallery will host a semester-long group exhibition, Toward a Tangled Turn: Knots, Nets, Threads, & Loops. This thematic show connects work from more than a dozen artists in varying disciplines and backgrounds as a meditation and poetic connection to notions of tangling, tying, threading, warping, weaving, binding, looping, and circling, etc. These ‘threads’ contain both obvious and not-so-obvious metaphoric and symbolic connections outward and inward, and I invite visitors to discover and invent new associations, both subjective and objective, formal and conceptual.
