Jeff Nicholson has painted in this corner of the state many times, but this is his first exhibition in Elko. He put together this retrospective, of sorts, from private collections. Many of the earliest works are from long-time dear friends; others belong to clients who became good friends when Nicholson owned an art gallery and frame shop in Carson City. This is a good survey of his career—from landscapes to architectural subjects, and examples of his interest in man’s footprint on the land.
