Kristy Dial was born and raised in Tucson, AZ and currently lives in Minden, NV. Her love of southwest art, American Indians and rock art has been her greatest influences. Kristy is instrumental in starting the Nevada Gourd Society in 2016. Kristy has participated in art shows for the past 27 years, as well as organizing the Silver State Art Festival held in Carson City, NV. The 2022 festival was the 4th Festival, offering 40+ artists an opportunity to sell their art as well as holding several art classes during the festival. This event is recognized a wonderful cultural event and is endorsed by the Carson City Tourism Authority. Kristy was instrumental in winning the 2019 Carson City Mayor’s Arts Awards—Community Impact Award for the Nevada Gourd Society. Kristy has also been teaching gourd art for the past 26 years and is honored to share her knowledge and love of gourds by teaching classes throughout the year. For several years, Kristy has been on the board of the American Gourd Society and the head judge of the largest gourd show in the U.S. (held annually in Casa Grande, AZ). Kristy is instrumental in starting the Nevada Gourd Society in 2016. Kristy’s art can be found in the NAA Gallery, Carson City and Prism Gallery in Gardnerville and Moab, UT
