SIERRA WATERCOLOR SOCIETY IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION
SERVING THE ARTS IN NORTHERN NEVADA
AND EASTERN CALIFORNIA.

FOR THE COMMUNITY:
SWS presents painting exhibits in public spaces throughout the year, including one annual show judged by a professional juror. Meetings for members include educational lectures and demonstrations by well-known artists. SWS’s Art Angels program sends volunteers to teach art in regional elementary schools. SWS awards a scholarship to a University of Nevada Reno art student who is working towards a degree in art.

FOR ARTISTS:
SWS offers workshops taught by nationally recognized artists in a wide range of fields including watercolor technique, landscape, human figure, collage, design, and color theory. SWS maintains a large lending library of DVDs about painting. Members also may meet in small drawing and critique groups.

We welcome members of the public to all our meetings, demos and exhibits
