In December, Las Vegas painter Gig Depio installed a new mural, “Through the Muddy,” at the Moapa Valley Community Center in Overton. It’s a 40-foot-long history painting, filled with Paiutes, Mormon settlers, farmers, miners and glimpses of the Southern Nevada landscape.

Depio talked with Double Scoop about some of the painting’s details and the decisions he made as he designed it.

Thanks a million to UNR journalism student Lucia Starbuck for editing this video.
